I always look forward to the challenge of Monday Mystery Stamping and January 17th’s version was no different. I like to challenge myself to use a stamp set and Designer Series Paper that I haven’t yet used or that I’m still not quite comfortable with. Yesterday I used the Friendly Hello stamp set and accompanying Friendly Hello 12″ x 12″ Designer Series Paper bundle from the January-February 2022 Sale-a-Bration brochure. Yes, it’s the ‘biggie’ offering available for your choosing when you make a $100 purchase of regular product from a current Stampin’ Up! catalog. Whew! Lots of words. Bottom line, I selected this bundle when I resupplied myself with card stock and other odds and ends like a new stamp set or two and some accessories.
This is my fun and spring-y card created to send to a friend to bring a smile when she finds it in her mailbox. Don’t you love getting a surprise in your mailbox?

To recreate the layout of today’s card:
Cut a 4″ x 5-1/4″ piece of Basic White card stock and lightly apply Multipurpose Liquid Glue all over it.
Flip the piece over and trim off the overhanging strip pieces using either Paper Snips or a Stampin’ Trimmer.
You’ll need one more piece of contrasting Designer Series Paper, this one 1″ x 5-1/4″ which you’ll attach to the left side of your layered piece before attaching it to the card front using Multipurpose Liquid Glue. Check the very first card above for placement of that piece. It’s pretty clean and easy.
Stepped up version of today’s card:
To be honest, I messed up with the measurement of my Basic White layer and it was a bit too small. Remedy: Cut a layer of coordinating card stock (Fresh Freesia again) to the proper 5-1/4″ x 4″. Then attach the layered Basic White decorated layer. I went a step further before attaching the decorated layer and ran it through the Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine using the Gingham Embossing Folder. It added a nice little ‘pop’ to the layer.
