Garden Birdhouses

As soon as I saw this Garden Birdhouses stamp set in Stampin’ Up!’s  new 2021-22 Annual Catalog, I knew it had to come to my house.  I love birdhouses and the joy of watching birds come to our backyard to feed from spring through fall.

Garden Birdhouses, 155090

These are my first cards made with this bold set.  I say bold because the line art and fonts are quite strong or bold.

Product List

How to Tips:

  • Basic Black card stock:
    • 5-1/4″ x 4″
    • 3″ square
    • scrap approximately 2″ x 2-1/2″ (for greeting)
  • Basic White card stock:
    • 8-1/2″ x 5-1/2″, scored at 4-1/4″ and folded in half.  Burnish (rub over crease gently but firmly) using Bone Folder or back of thumb nail.
    • 5″ x 3-3/4″
    • 2-1/2″ square
    • scrap approximately 2″ x 2-1/2″ (for greeting)
  • Positively Pink or Fresh Freesia card stock
    • 2-3/4″ square

  • Stamp branch image randomly on upper half of largest piece of Basic White card stock using Black Memento Ink.
    • Color in with Light and Dark Granny Apple Green Stampin’ Blends.
    • Run through Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine using the Tasteful Texture 3D Embossing Folder.
    • Attach to largest Basic Black layer.
  • On 2-1/2″ square piece of Basic White card stock, stamp bird house using Black Memento Ink.
    • Color in using Polished Pink or  Fresh Freesia Stampin’ Blends.
    • Color the roof using Misty Moonlight Stampin’ Blends.
    • Also stamp random branches as desired, using Black Memento Ink.
      • Color in with Garden Green Stampin’ Blends.
  • Attach colored (Pink or Freesia) card stock to Basic Black card stock layer using Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • Attach stamped Basic White card stock layer to colored card stock layer using Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • Attach these three layers to the card front with adhesive of your choice.  My favorite is “green glue” (Multipurpose Liquid Glue) right now.  I like the ‘movability’ as I’m positioning the layer.
  • Stamp greeting on Basic White scrap using Black Memento Ink.  Die cut using the die of your choice.  Be prepared to die cut a coordinating layer using Basic Black card stock.

  • Gently color three Rhinestone Basic Jewels with the broader tip of the Positively Pink or Fresh Freesia Stampin’ Blends marker.
    • Place these jewels on your card as you desire.  I used tweezers to gently remove rhinestones from card backing and then position them on my card layer.
  • Attach finished layers to the Basic White card front base.
