BACK TO 1999-2000 – FOUND IN A DEEP DARK CORNER…….

As I was emptying out my stampin’ studio this morning I emptied the tiny corner farthest from the doorway.  On the floor level (3 feet down) I came upon “Blythe’s Porfolio”.  From no later than Y2K, 2000.

You just have to see them.  How many stamp sets do you recognize?  And mostly importantly, what were we thinking???  Look how far stamping has come since 2000!  Thank you Stampin’ Up! for keeping ‘on trend’ and helping us grow!

Baby girl thank you card circa 2000
I made these as a gift for a baby shower.
Blythe & children peeking out window
This is one of the better cards, also circa 2000. I loved this cozy stamp set.  It’s me and my children: L > R, Andrea, Kathi, Jason
Wedding Invitation
My daughter’s good friend gathered her bridesmaids together to create a bunch of these cards/wedding invitations. I do remember what a fun afternoon it was!
Hat shaped shower thank you card
This hat shaped thank you card for made for my son’s best friend’s wedding shower. Ahh the days of Definitely Decorative!
Hat shaped shower thank you card
Thank you cards for my girlfriend’s daughter’s baby shower. Even her husband (per her note) was impressed with them! “So cool” he said.
Wedding invitation circa 2000
Another wedding invitation made by my niece and friends for the friend’s October 2000 wedding.
Baby shower thank you card, 2002
Baby shower gift of thank you cards for the gal who also received the purple hat shaped cards. 2002.
Christmas card, 2000-ish
I didn’t MAKE this card, I received it. Inside, “Isn’t this the most adorable card you’ve ever seen? (Just ignore the wine stains!)”. Ahh the period of folk art and wild colors.
25th anniversary party invitation
I did make this one. Ahh, the colors! For my brother and his wife: she’s an avid gardener and he’s an avid jeeper. Perfect stamps for each of them. Again:  Ahh……the colors! Holy moley.
Y2K party/overnight invitation
At the time of this invitation our ‘now’ home was our cabin. At that time we could sleep 16 in beds. Now we can sleep 4 in beds. I must have used Color Box pigment pads and clear embossing powder for the backgrounds. Thank you Stampin’ Up! for the Happy 2000 stamp.
Inside of Y2K party invitation
Oh the colors! But also, oh did we have a great time!! And no one had to drive home.
Baby Christening invitation, 2002
I loved the single-sided (remember that?) designer series paper. My grand-nephew has just turned 13.
6" x 6" birth announcement using Noah's Ark stamp set, 2002
A girlfriend purchased the stamp set/s and created her own birth announcement. As a single mom (by choice) she made it her way. Go Suzanne.

I’m sure glad I’m still stamping today, with today’s papers, embellishments, tools and stamps.  How long will it be before we groan at this year’s hand crafted treasures???  Do you have any goodies to share?  Send them to me in an email (Blythe@StampingWithBlythe.com) and I’ll post them here.  I’d love to see them!

Have a great Sunday and thanks for stopping by.  It was fun compiling these cards.  Yes I groaned at more than one!
