When I saw the Woodlands Textured Impressions Embossing Folder in the new Holiday Catalog at Stampin’ Up!’s convention in July I knew it would be the first tool/accessory I purchased. I love the way it invokes the cold silence of winter in the forest. When driving to the Sonora Pass, about an hour and a half from our home there are several stands of quaking aspen and my mind jumped right to them.
This is pretty much the card I had in mind…….cold snowy scene, a few cardinals flitting about in the trees and then a bright greeting to balance the card.
How did I get the bark lines on the tree trunks? Very carefully! Using my Basic Gray marker leaning way on it’s side (not using the point at all) I carefully marked the lines in the trunk doing my best not to get any ink anywhere else. If I did (check out the trunk between the two birds above) I look at it as bark that is peeling. It’s a bit tedious but well worth the effort when you see the effect.
Check the difference between without and with the Basic Gray highlighting on the bark.
Next I’m looking forward to creating different seasons and Holidays with this lovely Woodland embossing folder. Both are beautiful. It just depends upon the ‘look’ you’re going for.
You’ll be able to purchase this Woodland Embossing Folder, as well as a bunch of other items, on September 1st. Next big question is……..do you have the Handmade for the Holidays Holiday Catalog yet? If you aren’t a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator and if you don’t have a demonstrator to call “your own”, I’d be glad to send you one. Just send me an email, Blythe@StampingWithBlythe.com
Have a great weekend and thanks for taking a bit of time to stop by my blog. It feels good to know someone besides me sees what I’m up to. Hee hee.
Product List
I would appreciate if you would email me about stampinup products. I love this folder and do you ship any of the products to Canada.
Thank you
Jackie
Hi Jackie and thank you (!!) for leaving a comment. Unfortunately I cannot ship to Canada due to tariffs and other laws. (I don’t really know what they are but I sure would if I could.) I do have some very good stampin’ friends in Canada and can gladly refer you a few. What part of the country do you call home? In the meantime, if you have a specific question I can certainly answer it. Or–on the sidebar of the blog are Stampin’ Up!’s catalogs. Click on whichever one (or ones) interest you and a pdf will pop up. The Occasion Catalog has products that are especially geared toward spring activities. The Sale-a-Bration Brochure shows the items you can earn for free through March 31st. And the annual catalog shows A LOT, including most of the accessories. There are Canadian versions of the catalogs as well and if you want I’ll find those links for you. Again, I’d love to answer any questions you have; I just can’t ship to Canada. I can sell/send pdfs for my classes though! 🙂 It’s not all bad. I look forward to hearing back from you. ~Blythe
