I absolutely love this Birthday Fiesta stamp set and I’ll be working on more fun cards as the weeks go by. I had to try Los Tres Amigos though before putting the set in my cupboard. After all, there are more new (and returning) stamp sets to play with!
I chose my colors based on those used in the Festive Birthday Designer Series Paper (DSP) pack. Those silly llamas kept saying Los Tres Amigos to me so I had to figure a way to get all three of them on one small card front. I also wanted them to be different colors so two are Crumb Cake card stock, one stamped with Crumb Cake classic ink and the other stamped with Soft Suede; the third amigo was stamped with Vanilla Craft Ink (retired) and embossed with Clear Embossing Powder.
I used Stampin’ Dimensionals under the flag banner, the Soft Suede llama and the greeting. The greeting was die cut using the banner from the Mini Treat Bag Thinlits. I used my Paper Trimmer to remove about 1/8″ from each long edge of the banner so it would better fit on my card.
I placed the bottom of the banner almost on the edge of the cutting trough and carefully removed excess card stock.
The festive olé sombreros were cut from a piece of the Festive Birthday DSP. Here’s my first incarnation of the card without the sombreros:

Now it’s time to stop the fiestas and move on to some other fun ideas. I really did have a good time with the llamas, sombreros, banner and fiesta-making though. Try it out.
