Mother’s Day Greetings 2018

This is one of those lovely holidays where many benefit:  the sender feels great, the recipient knows they are loved and the US Post Office gets a lot of business going through their doors.  Mother’s Day greetings 2018 can be shared with daughters or moms near and far thanks to Stampin’ Up! (these beautiful cards) and the post office (for being the delivery system).

I’ve used the 2017-2019 In Colors to create these lovely, yet varied cards.  Any greeting could be stamped inside:  hello, thinking of you, for my friend, happy birthday or Happy Mother’s Day.  My own mom can’t receive a card from me (she passed away in 1995) but my daughters and daughter-in-law sure can.

Mother's Day Greetings

These cards look great and complicated but they are really soooo easy.  It’s just a matter of scoring and cutting certain sizes of Designer Series Papers.  Your most important tool, after stamps and papers, is the Paper Trimmer.  I. Love. My. Paper. Trimmer.

I used two patterns of the Fresh Florals Designer Series Paper for my cards.  This awesome designer series paper stack will be retiring on May 31st or while supplies last—whichever comes first.

The card assembly is pretty basic…….

  • Score and fold the card stock
  • Adhere the Designer Series Paper pieces to the proper panels
  • Use the Big Shot and Layering Squares Framelits to cut out the scalloped Smokey Slate layer and the slightly smaller straight sided square Whisper White layer.
  • Stamp two daisies using the same color ink and card stock.  Punch out with Daisy Punch.
    • TIP:  If you position one of the petals of the daisy image pointing straight down to the bottom edge of your card stock, punching it out will be much easier!
  • Attach daisy pieces with strong adhesive (Snail, Fast Fuse, Mini Glue Dots, Tear & Tape).  Be sure to position the petals so that all petals show.  “Clock” them one petal to the right or the left.
  • Attach daisy layers to layered square piece with a Dimensional.  Apply adhesive to the area of the square card stock that will be touching the folded card stock.
  • Stamp long stemmed flower on the Whisper White panel–use markers to color the stem and little blossoms.
  • Add your greeting using Smoky Slate classic ink, sign and mail or hand to your lucky recipient.
    • I used the Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp set (which will be retiring — I will really miss it!!!  t does come in Wood or Clear Mount) for the Mother’s Day Greeting.

Fortunately the Daisy Delight stamp set will be in to 2018-2019 Annual Catalog, but the Fresh Floral Designer Series paper (DSP) won’t.  So………if you want a stack of that great DSP be sure to order it soon.  Click here for a shortcut to my Stampin’ Up! store.

Isn’t this card a lovely way to send Mother’s Day Greetings 2018 to an important mother or mother-figure in your life.  Make their day, create a card and send it or take it to them.  You can use any (well, almost any) designer paper for your version of this fun folding card.  You know what?  I’m just thinking that I’m going to make a Happy Manny’s Day card for my son-in-law who has taken on that household role for a while in his home.  Now I can use almost any DSP!
