Congrats Card for Nora’s Graduation

My granddaughter is graduating from high school next week. I’ve been so busy reorganizing my stamp room this past few weeks that I totally forgot about making her card. I’ve been ‘touching a lot of retiring or retirED stamp sets, making room for new goodies from Stampin’ Up!’s 2025-2026 annual catalog. It seems that most of the stamps I’ve used today are those retired ones that I’m really trying to move to the garage or even further away for some!

In this morning’s sort of last hour stamping opportunity, I couldn’t locate even one stamp set that included ‘graduation’. The easel from the Crafting with You stamp set (retired–but it’s once I won’t let leave my house) set the stage perfectly for my new greeting choice.. The congratulations came from the Happy Hibiscus stamp set and the flowers and numbers came from the Make a Difference stamp set.

  • Card measurements and cutting info:
    • Basic White Thick: 4-1/4″ x 11″ scored at 5-1/2″. You could also cut your card stock to 8-1/2″ x 5-1/2″, scored at 4-1/4″. Since I had a piece already cut and scored, I used the long narrow one.
    • Real Red: 4″ x 5-1/4″
    • Basic White: 3-13/16″ x 5-1/16″ (double check me before cutting yours!) — for the embossing background layer
      • Also 3-1/2″ x 2-1/2″ for stamping and die cutting the easel.

After stamping and die cutting the easel, attach it to the embossed Basic White layer using Dimensionals. Be sure to add some Wink of Stella to the flowers.

I enjoyed the clean simplicity of this card and, gratefully, my granddaughter did as well. And I hope you enjoyed today’s card as well and that you’ll try something similar some day soon. It was really quite easy. Change the words and make it your own!

I just have to share this “three Blythe’s” photo taken today at Nora’s party. I enjoy Blythe as my first name. My daughter Andrea originally had Blythe as her middle name but moved it to her last name after her marriage went awry. And my granddaughter Nora proudly sports Blythe as her middle name. Way back ‘when’, Blythe was MY grandmother’s maiden name. I’m honored to have been able to share it.

This young lady is graduating with honors, a champion LaCross player (their team won the Idaho State championship this past weekend and before we know it she’ll be at the University of Utah in Salt Lake majoring in Psychology this fall.

Thank you so much for popping in today. Please leave a comment below if you’re looking for a specific project or technique. And don’t forget to make a card and then make someone’s day by sending it to them.
