PS. We have house guests from Paris for the next two weeks so if I’m not “here” for a day, please understand. We’re playing the roll of hosts. Today it’s Calaveras Big Trees State Park and a visit to a local winery, Ironstone, where in addition to wine there is a l-a-r-g-e gold nugget from the gold rush days in the 1850s. Tomorrow I take them to Yosemite National Park for a several days (for them) of hiking and relaxation. Then Saturday we go back to pick them up.
