Tuesday’s Tip: True Story

Over the weekend I was completing odd and ends of ‘started’ cards and this project evolved into Tuesday’s Tip. You know: card stock and Designer Series Papers are cut but the cards were never completed for whatever reason. I needed to die cut a bunch of branch images from the Timeless Arrangement Dies and my little leaves/branches kept getting stuck in the die and tearing off, no matter how carefully I tried to remove the card stock from the die. What to do??? I scratched my head a few times wondering what would possibly help to release the card stock that was permanently stuck (it seemed) in the die?

Epiphany, at least for trying: Gently lay the cutting side of the die onto my VersaMark pad. Do not push. Just set on pad, very very gently (like barely) touch it and then remove the die. Cutting and removing the die cut card stock worked like a dream.

So this Tuesday’s Tip is………if you’re having trouble removing die cut card stock from a more intricate die, gently lay the die on a VersaMark pad, do not put any pressure on it, just tap it once g-e-n-t-l-y and remove. Try die cutting your image again and I think you’ll be very pleased. I sure was!

My Goal

At last, I was able to put together my lovely card, with enough die cuts to supply the needs of my upcoming class at our local community center. I’ll share the card tomorrow since my computer is fighting with me right now. Oh the joys of ‘technology’!

Thank you so much for popping in today. Please leave a comment below if you’re looking for a specific project or technique. And don’t forget to make a card and then make someone’s day by sending it to them.
