By the Bay Thank You Note Card

Sometimes it’s fun to make a quick and easy, simple layer Note Card.   I think this By the Bay thank you note card is rather stunning in it’s simplicity.  I could also refer to it as #simplestamping.  The lovely thing about using Stampin’ Up!’s note cards is that for $6.50 you get 20 note cards and envelopes.

By the way…….the By the Bay stamp set, a Sale-A-Bration stamp set that’s free with a $50 purchase, is one of the new cling stamp sets.  I love the ‘clings’ as they are so superior to the clear mount red rubber stamps (which I really quite disliked since they easily felt off of the clear blocks).

I created these eight cards in less than half an hour.  Wow!  And it was fun.  Stamp, color beaks and legs, aqua paint sky and sand, add some Wink of Stella.  Done.

Here are the supplies I used:

And here are the steps I took. I’m really excited since these cards were easier than I ever expected!

  • Stamp the water fowl using  Gray Granite Classic Ink.
  • Using Pumpkin Pie Stampin’ Marker, small end, color beaks and legs.
  • Using the Aqua Painter and Pool Party Classic ink*, fill in the sky between and behind the water fowl.
  • Using the Aqua Painter and Sahara Sand Classic ink* color over the sand area.
  • Using Gray Granite Classic Ink stamp thank you on the right side of the card.
  • Add Wink of Stella to the water fowl to make them stand out a bit.
  • Using Gray Granite Classic Ink stamp the image slightly off of the left corner of the envelope.
  • Done!

When you need a single or several quick and easy thank you notes, I certainly recommend this quick and easy By the Bay Thank You Note Card.  Win win win!

*Squeeze the closed lid of the stamp pad onto the pad to leave a deposit of ink.  Then swirl your Aqua Painter in the lid to pick up the color.  With the new model of stamp pads that squeeze technique doesn’t work quite as well so instead, put a drop or two of Reinker (ink refill) onto the open lid and swirl it around with the Aqua Painter.  When purchasing an ink pad of any color I always recommend purchasing the ink refill at the same time.  You never know when you’ll need it.
