What is it about basket weave that’s so inviting and charming? This Basket Weave Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder is found in the second release of 2018 Sale-A-Bration goodies that we, as customers, can earn when spending $50 or $100 for Stampin’ Up! products. Actually, this Embossing Folder is part of a $100 redemption bundle that also includes the Blossoming Basket stamp set, available in either wood or clear mount.
Good news: the embossing folder will be available in the upcoming 2018-2019 Annual Catalog that will be released June 1st. Usually, nothing from Sale-A-Bration goes into an annual catalog.
Yesterday I stamped and colored four basket images so I could test different colors and papers. Yes, I can count…..I used one of the four baskets on a project that you’ll see in my March Stampin’ Talk & Tips newsletter. Be sure you’re on my mailing list since that’s the only way you’ll get my monthly newsletter in your inbox. The signup is at the top of the sidebar.
I also wanted to ‘play’ with the Basket Weave Dynamic (that means extra thick and strong embossing) Textured Embossing Folder. The Whisper White and Crumb Cake embossing cardstocks on the left are photographed on the ‘back’ or reverse side of the actual basket weave. Pretty cool aren’t they. And what a totally different look!
Today I created two cards. This is the second of them, shown in steps as I was heading towards the final product.
In addition to showing the reverse side of the embossed cardstock, I also did another fun “trick”: I rubbed my Crumb Cake Classic Ink pad over both “inside sides” of the inside of the embossing folder just to see what it would look like. The card above is not my finished card. I turned the layer over to the true basket weave side and put my card together:
I thought this was going to be my finished card until………….
…….I added the butterfly to the handle. The card was missing something that would create a bit more balance. I think the addition of the little butterfly did the trick.
