I have avoided making this type of card for months thinking it was a bit too complicated. And then I went for it and decided to just try. Oh my gosh. Easy Peasy……..especially when using ONE STAMP SET, Balloon Bash, for all of the stamping.
And to put it into an envelope (regular Medium Whisper White Envelope) simply tie a piece of twine or ribbon to hold it all snugly collapsed. Mailing should just require a regular $.49 stamp (U.S.). The ones I’ve mailed have.
You start out with an 8-1/2″ x 5-1/2″ piece of card stock. Score at 2-3/4″, 5-1/2″ and 8-1/4″.
You’ll need Stampin’ Up!’s Decorative Label Punch to create the base/legs of your card. After you have folded along the score lines (5-1/2″ is a valley fold, 2-3/4″ and 8-1/4″ are mountain folds), fold the first two panels so they are on top of each other. Position the punch so ‘legs’ are created. See photo. Repeat for the remaining 2 folds.
Once you determine your color scheme, cut 4 panels at 2-1/2″ x 4-1/4″ (background/base layer) and then four for stamping your images at 2-3/8″ x 4-1/8″.
Consider using a designer series paper on several of the panels and that will definitely help you select your accent or layering colors.
Add your stamped layers and you’re done! It’s really quite quick and definitely quite a happy eye full! Clear blocks C, D, E, and H are recommended if you’re using the Balloon Bash stamp set.
Now please………go try it out. You’ll be quite amazed at how easy it really is to create such a fun card!
Have a great remainder of your weekend.
