Painted Poppies Happy Birthday Card

Although there are still boxes and boxes in our garage that require unpacking, I needed another stamping break.  Inspiration for today’s card was from a Pinterest email and the stamper is Annevanlucy from Missouri.  The products used for the card are some of my favorites from Stampin’ Up’s 2020 January-June Mini Catalog.  (Let me know if you’d like me to send you one!)

Poppy Moments Birthday Card
Besides loving this card and the products used, I’ll be swapping it with my teammates at our March team meeting.

* Although the Big Shot (shown above) is not shown as retired, it is.  It is no longer available.  However, a new die cutting machine will be available in the June 2020-May 2021 Annual Catalog which will be released in June.  However (again) it won’t be immediately available and with all the Covid19 activity, there might be even more of a delay.  But…..Stampin’ Up!’s new machine will be available hopefully in the summer.  I promise to keep you posted.  I can’t wait to get my hands on it as well.

Back to today’s card:

The Whisper White layer is 4″ x 5-1/4″ and has been run through my Big Shot (or any other die cutting machine you have at your service) two times.

Poppy Moments Die, used twice
Run the die through the Big Shot first in the upper-is left hand corner. Run it through the machine forward and then back to the starting position for a total of two runs under the pressure roller. Then, turn the die around and position the it in the lower right corner and repeat.  Attach to card front after popping out most of the cut out pieces.  You don’t have to worry about those in the middle since they will be hidden under the DSP (Designer Series Paper) piece.

Greeting layers:

Poppy Parade DSP
Poppy Parade DSP, cut to 2″ x 3-1/2″.  The ribbon is approximately 10″ long, wrapped around the DSP piece, tied in a knot and then tied into a bow.

Add stamped and die cut Greeting layer
Add stamped and die cut Greeting layer using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Finally, attach the above layer to the card front using Multipurpose Liquid Glue for best stickiness.

Six completed Peaceful Moments Birthday cards
I also added a single From my Heart Faceted Gem (p. 9, Jan-June Mini Catalog) using a Mini Glue Dot.

To remove those pesky little die cut pieces, be sure to try the most efficient Die Brush Tip!  I keep mine in an empty Paper Pumpkin box to contain all the shrapnel.  It saves a big mess.

You can purchase any of the items used for today’s card (except that Big Shot–sorry) by clicking on the product image above and going straight to my Stampin’ Up! online store or click this link: (https://blythestamps.stampinup.net) so you can search and wander around.  Be sure to use March’s Hostess Code if your order is between $50 and $149.99.  At the end of the month, I’ll send you a free product gift as my thank you for choosing me as your demonstrator.
