When is lavender not lavender? How about when it’s wisteria instead. The Lots of Lavender FREE stamp set from this year’s Sale-A-Bration offerings is definitely one of my favorites because it has more than one ‘persona’.
How do you turn lavender into wisteria? Turn it upside down! It’s quite easy and effective and gives a totally different vibe.
I see this Lots of Lavender stamp set as a “two-for-the-money” set. Here are the how-to bits for the card:
- Cardstock:
- Wisteria Wonder: 8-1/2″ x 5-1/2″, scored at 4-1/4″, folded and burnished* with a Bone Folder
- Basic Black: 2-3/4″ x 4″
- Whisper White card front layer: 2-5/8″ x 3-7/8″
- Whisper White inside layer: 4″ x 5-1/4″
- Ink:
- Crumb Cake: bow, greeting
- Pear Pizzazz: leaves
- Wisteria Wonder: Lavender image “full strength”; Lavender solid image “stamped off” once
- Accessories:
- Clear Blocks A, C, D, I
- Dimensionals
- Fast Fuse Adhesive
- Linen Thread: about 40″, doubled and wrapped around layer 3 times
- Greeting:
*burnished: rubbed over firmly creating a firm crease
I love the versatility of the ‘hello’ greeting from the Eastern Beauty stamp set. You can place your ‘happy birthday’, ‘thinking of you’, ‘with sympathy’, etc. greeting on the stamped layer inside the card when you know the purpose for which you’ll be using your beautiful card.
Be sure to sign the back of your card, by hand or with a stamp, so your lucky recipient will know you have taken the time to hand-stamp it. If you’ve used a stamp, before you send it, be sure to hand write your name and the date/year.
On the next card I make that’s similar to this one, I’ll be sure to open it before stamping the card front layer so the image wraps around the crease.
