Life in the Fast Lane!

Yip, life in the fast lane means you don’t really get any one thing done and you do get a lot of things started. Sigh. I sometimes think I need a life style monitor. Or at least someone/something to keep me in check on a single path. Please tell me you’ve been there.

Now that May has just flown by I will get back on track for June plus fill in some of my May-GAPS.

Life in my Stampin’ Up! world is also on the fast track. What’s new? April/May brought the turn over of annual catalogs. The 2022-23 catalog was o-u-t and the 2023-24 catalog i-n as of May 2nd. That means, for me, pulling out retired products and slowly replacing them with new goodies and ideas. And leaving the carried over products in place. I don’t have a “shadow me” so it’s taken some time and effort to accomplish these tasks. My stamping space — which I am so grateful to have — is still in a bit of turmoil!!! Photos might scare you or make you wonder. But it’s always good in the end.

In the meantime let’s jump to some fun NOW happenings:

During the month of June you will receive a 15% discount on select Designer Series Papers (DSP) from both in the new 2023-2024 Annual Catalog and the OnLine Exclusives. Some of My Ways of Sharing Fun — Or Having Fun — Thanks to Stampin’ Up!

As a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator I’ve been to multiple conventions throughout the U.S. plus one in Calgary Canada and the first international convention in Brussels, Belgium. WOW! (Hubby worked for United Air Lines so I got a real deal on flights to these far away destinations.) I’ve met stampers from all across the country online and sometimes in person. I guess the word is super-networking! I’ve met individuals in my various neighborhoods that I might not have met without holding stamping classes. And I’ve got to play with friends and relatives in my playrooms.

Why I love being a Stampin' Up! demonstrator
Hubby & I met my online stamping pal Betty K. while in Anchorage Alaska on a first trip. Betty and her hubby, Ron, did a great job of familiarizing us with the area.

Stamping friends from New York state “stopped by our home” near Yosemite National Park in California, on their meandering way to a Stampin’ Up! event in Arizona! We were atop the Glacier Falls area at sunset.

These are my annual Stampin’ Up! Convention roommates for 8 years! We met via an online stamping group called Sudsol (Simply Unique Demonstrators Sharing On Line) and once roomies we were forever roomies. Left > Right: Sue from Indiana, my sister Janet from northern California, me (California at the time) and Katie from update New York. Friends forEVER thanks to Stampin’ Up!

When Stampin’ Up! went international I made sure I met some stampers from Germany. We’ve met 4-5 times over the years now. Nadine and Jeannette. Jeannette lives near our former exchange student in northern Germany so we’ve even managed to met up there! Thank you Stampin’ Up!

This is that SUDSOL group of demonstrators who support each other online. When at a convention we gather to have a formal card swap. AND we get to meet face to face!

This is my stamping playroom/studio/office over our garage in Mi Wuk Village, CA., in the mountains near Yosemite. We converted it from a dorm type room to MY ROOM! It was affectionately named My Country Loft (but that’s another story). The space I have now, in Boise Idaho, is half this size but it utilized a lot of the same storage pieces.

Semi-annual stamping weekend in My Country Loft, aka ‘the Loft’. In addition to me these are all friends of my daughter’s who come up from the Bay Area (Dublin CA) for a get-away/stamping weekend while my hubby is “at our service” for meals and wine. Such fun! Thank you again Stampin’ Up!

This time we’re enjoying a KitTogether, making Hallowe’en wreaths–gathering at my daughter’s home in Dublin CA. We all still hang them on our doors in the Fall. Have supplies, will travel!

Again in Dublin CA I’m stamping with my then 9 year old granddaughter, putting together a Valentine based Paper Pumpkin Kit.

Here we are in Boise, Idaho, meeting NEW stamping friends at a bi-monthly card-making event at Potter Wines. By this time you might recognize the stamper on the right–my daughter Andrea. I have another class coming up at Potter Wines on July 9th if you’re in the area. It can be found on Event Brite and I’ll post more about it in a few days.

Another class opportunity, this time at the Avimor Community Center here in Boise. As a resident there’s no charge for using this fabulous room. We meet here twice a month, EVERY month, making two cards each time. Such fun! 12 participants most of the time.

Locals now join me for a Kit Together at my home the last Monday of every month. So far our kits are Paper Pumpkin kits since they are so perfectly complete with supplies and offer a variety of subject matter. Thank you again Stampin’ Up!
Why I love being a Stampin' Up! demonstrator
This year Stampin’ Up! is celebrating their 35th Anniversary so obviously this photo was several years ago at the Annual Convention celebrating their 30th Anniversary.
Why I love being a Stampin' Up! demonstrator
And that 30th Anniversary was when I fluffed my hair with two of Stampin’ Up! water based stamp pads: Bermuda Bay and either Lemon Lime Twist or Granny Apple Green. I can’t remember. I do know that it washes right out! Don’t expect the red based colors to wash right out though.

I’m looking forward to seeing you again very soon. In the meantime, happy stamping. Make a card, mail it and make someone’s day! You don’t have to have a reason. “Hello” or “Just Because” or many other more generic greetings will fill the bill.
