Yes, I’m in deep doo-doo since I didn’t get this card mailed by Thursday at the latest. It’s for my sister’s birthday which is today.
Honestly I got the card finished last night, too late for our little mountain post office.
I wanted a floral background behind the die cut image and chose the Affectionately Yours Specialty Designer Series Paper.
I’ve shown you this tip before for removing the itty bitty bits, aka chads, from an intricate die but some of you may not have seen it before. Place your foam mat and Die Brush into an empty Paper Pumpkin box (or box of similar size) and then roll the brush over the die cut image. Your chads will remain in the box instead of all over your work space.
How to for the card: I attached a 3-1/2″ square piece of Designer Paper to the back of the die cut image. Then I wrapped a small piece of ribbon from the Cupcakes & Carousels Embellishment Kit around the Crumb Cake die cut “basket” securing it with little strips of Fast Fuse (my favorite adhesive). I tied the balloon from the Party Animal Embellishments with a 5″ piece of Crushed Curry Baker’s Twine, placing a Mini Glue Dot behind the balloon to keep it secure and in place. I attached the Whisper White layer to the Watermelon Wonder card front with nine Dimensionals.
Change the greeting on this card and it could easily be used for Mother’s Day. Or Thinking of You. Or just a simple Hello.
And here’s a last minute addition: the matching envelope made from another pattern of the Affectionately Yours Specialty Designer Series Paper.
