HAPPY HOME – SYMPATHY CARD FOR THE FAMILY OF A VERY SPECIAL LADY

The mother of my daughter’s very close friend passed away earlier in January after a 4 year brave battle with cancer.  Her passing struck us all very hard and I wanted to make special cards for her 3 daughters and her husband.  I had had an idea in my mental drawing board for several weeks — since the Christmas season actually — and I finally put it on paper with the Happy Home stamp set.

Happy Home (140500) Sympathy Card

Here are my prepped ingredients:

Happy Home (140500) Sympathy Card

I started by using the Soft Sky and Pear Pizzazz stamp pads for inking up the Watercolor Wash background stamp.  Then I spritzed the stamp with three ‘poofs’ of water and applied it to the Whisper White card stock.  It curled up at first and then dried flat.

After finishing the Sympathy Cards, I also wanted to put together a simpler card without the window frame but  using the same stamp set.

I used the Simply Scored Scoring Tool to create the dry embossed lines on the edges of the 4″ x 5-1/4″ layer.

Pssssst…… I filled the clouds in with the Clear Wink of Stella brush.  It’s such a soft subtle bit of ‘bling’.

I think this will be all for now with my special Happy Home stamp set, one of my top five picks in the 2016 Occasions Catalog.  If you’d like your own Happy Home stamp set check it out by clicking right here.  I think you’ll really enjoy owning it.  It comes in both Wood and Clear mount.  You can also purchase it as a bundle (wood mount) along with the Hearth & Home Thinlits Dies and save 15% on the combination of the two items.  You can purchase the clear mount bundle here.  Enjoy!

By the way, if you’d like to learn how to make this card, or perhaps a card idea of your choice, please give me a call (top of this page) or send me an email  (Blythe@StampingWithBlythe.com) and we can talk and set up a date.  I’d love to show you how.  And YES, you truly can do it!
