My niece’s 40th birthday is coming up next week and I just couldn’t resist a little ‘payback’ with the From the Herd and Just Sayin’ stamp sets. She’s had ‘fun’ with my milestone birthdays over the years! 🙂
I did use my Blendabilities to color the eclectic herd. I’ll use them until they’re dried up. I used the Pistachio Pudding Polka Dot pattern from the 2013-2015 Background Designer Series Paper Stack. (Sadly this 2013-2015 In-Color Group will be retiring before we know it but that’s a discussion for another day.)
I love the Just Sayin’ comments set. And you know it has matching Framelits, right? They’re call Word Bubbles Framelits. It’s a lot of fun to be able to pop a word or group of words on a card and having framelits makes it so easy to ‘cut’ them out. I stamped the words in the bubble using Basic Gray ink since I didn’t want them to be as dark as black. And the Cherry Cobbler Blendability (could certainly use a Stampin’ Write Marker) balloon is topped with some Crystal Effects. Actually the eyes of the herd members are also covered with Crystal Effects.
Once you have colored the herd in the first time, it’s not at all difficult. I colored four of the group on Saturday. Two have gone off to a newly opened restaurant in the village (thank you Fi’s for letting me sell some of my cards). Next time I will use some Watercolor Paper to stamp them on and then use Aqua Painters for the coloring.
The grass was embellished with Baked Brown Sugar Thick Baker’s Twine.
TIP: I placed a tiny bit of Crystal Effects in the center of the bow to keep it from coming untie.
