I’m getting back into the swing of things with a simple, yet elegant, card using my favorite stamp set, Winter Woods, from the 2018 Holiday Catalog that launches on Wednesday, September 5th.

The trees are stamped using Tuxedo Black Memento Ink onto a clean and simple layer of Whisper White card stock, 4″ x 5-1/4″.  The stamped trees are then layered onto a piece of Basic Black card stock, 4-1/8″ x 5-3/8″.  And those two layers are placed on a card front of Whisper White Thick card stock 8-1/2″ x 5-1/2″, scored at 4-1/4″ and folded in half.
Now here’s my ooops. Â My greeting is crooked. Â That makes me nuts! Â So, I cut another piece of Whisper White card stock, 4-1/8″ x 2″, in half lengthwise, using the “slope” piece from the coordinating In the Woods Framelits Dies.
I love the clean simplicity of this card and hope you do too. Â And that added layer is also a perfect way to cover up a boo-boo like a crooked greeting.
On another subject, we all know that fall is coming right down the pike now that we’re in September. Â I know I love to do a little something fun for each upcoming holiday but yet I don’t always want to purchase another stamp set that will be used for only a month or so. Â That’s how I’m feeling about Halloween: Â I’d love to make a few cute cards or 3-D items but I also don’t want to purchase the moon to do so. Â So……my go-to for Halloween this year will be Paper Pumpkin. Â No, I don’t know what’s going to be in September’s kit but I do know that Paper Pumpkin has been getting more varied and creative, that the kit will include a photopolymer stamp set and at least one Classic Ink Spot, that it will have enough supplies to make at least eight “somethings” and that I won’t have a lot of things to store in my space until next Halloween. Â Check Paper Pumpkin out here and schedule your September kit by signing up before September 10th. Â I don’t know what it’s going to include but it’ll be cute and fun. Â When my kit arrives sometime between the 15th and 20th of September, I’ll open it with you (FT Live) and we can assemble our kits together. Â Just check out September’s creepy, cool kit box below. Â I love it! Â Smoke swirled purples and black.
I’ll repeat what I said at the beginning of this article………It sure is nice to be back into the swing of things. Â I’ve missed my blogging and creating. Â Tomorrow, around 1 p.m. Pacific Time, I hope to have my monthly newsletter in your inbox. Â If you aren’t yet on my mailing list, hop over to the top right sidebar and sign up. Â I do not share your email address with anyone.
