What’s Your Favorite Stamp Set?

We all know there are hundreds of stamp sets out there, both current and retired, but my question today is………..What’s Your Favorite Stamp Set?

That question isn’t as flip and easy as it seems.  My first answerS were

  • Lovely as a Tree
  • Teeny Tiny Messages
  • Gorgeous Grunge and Timeless Textures – background ‘noise’

Those set are tried and true standbys that have been around for more than several years.

New sets, from the 2018 Occasions Catalog, hadn’t really grabbed me until I got familiar with them.  I must admit that I gravitate towards stamp sets that can tell a story.  Stamp sets with lots of pieces.  Stamp sets that require coloring.  Stamp sets requiring lots of layering.  Like Apron of Love.  But the finished look is usually awesome and inviting.  All that said, I was not inspired at all by the Waterfront stamp set at first.  Or even at ‘second’ or ‘third’.  But now……….it’s my absolute favorite set from the current Occasions catalog.

Second favorite (which is a set that requires some effort) is Barn Door.

Let me share a few projects.  The Barn Door card is finished and in the mail.

What's your favorite stamp set - in purple

The recipient of this card was wearing purple at our lunch last week.  As soon as I got home I dug through my husband’s washer bin, found eight washers for the Barn Door card and then sat right down to make it.  Details will be on another post but…….I highly recommend Stampin’ Up!’s You Tube Barn Door video with Brandy Barnard.  Clear and concise.  I checked it out before I ventured on my own for my first Barn Door card.

So, what’s your favorite stamp set?  The one you’d really rather not be without.  Share with all of us.  🙂
