It’s so much fun to sit down and experiment with new products, especially when you have a definite goal, using the Colorful Seasons stamp set. As a demonstrator I was able to pre-purchase the new products used in May to prepare for sharing in time for the June 2017-2018 Annual Catalog release. Today’s goal is Mother’s Day. I needed three cards and knew pretty much what I wanted to do. My cards, using the Colorful Seasons stamp set, Seasonal Layers Thinlits Dies, and the fun new Color Theory 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper Stack were fairly quick and easy to make.
And these are the cards for my daughters and daughter-in-law:
I added delicate drops of Fine-Tip Flue Pen glue to the flowers on the branch.
Let Mom sit back and enjoy a bit of cool refreshment on her special day.
Supplies used for today’s cards:
- Card stock:
- Whisper White Thick: 8-1/2″ x 5-1/2″, scored at 4-1/4″ and folded
- Basic Black: 5/16″ x 5-1/4″; attach to back side of right Designer Paper strip using Multipurpose Liquid Glue–on the left side when laid down on card front.

While I know most readers won’t be able to use the Colorful Seasons stamp set and other new products I used today, you can certainly use the layout idea and substitute another stamp set and, perhaps, coordinating framelits or thinlits. Before I go to the mailbox tomorrow morning I also need to make a “Mother’s Day” card for my brother. He’s a May 14th baby, not a mother. And on June 1st, after noon Mountain Time, I encourage you to go to my Stampin’ Up! store and purchase your early favorites from the new catalog.
