Hide the Bear Behind the Birch Tree

This post is for my new best friend, Adrienne, from Minnesota.  She was wondering how — step-by-step please — I got that bear behind the trees on this Valentine card (bottom of page).  And then, how did I remove/clean the bear from my Woodland Textured Impressions Embossing Folder.  Well, here is a real step-by-step of the process.

This is sometimes a little hard to get your head around, putting yourself inside the embossing folder:  You want to stamp on the side of the folder that will not be pushed out or raised when running the folder through the Big Shot.

You’ll need these items:

Woodland Textured Impressions Embossing Folder (139673)
Woodland Textured Impressions Embossing Folder (139673).  You’ll stamp on the left side, the one with the word Sizzix.  You’ll be stamping on the side where the space between the trees is raised.

Check to be sure the tree branches are ‘upwards’.

Using Early Espresso ink, stamp bear image where you want it to be. I centered my guy between two trees for this card.  Have faith.  It will be where you want it on your card stock.

Insert card stock into embossing folder.

Place fold of embossing folder so it will be the first part of folder to go through the Big Shot.  Crank the folder through the Big Shot and remove it from the other wide and then remove card stock from folder.

Now you have a ‘dirty’ embossing folder. How to clean it?

Get ready to spritz stamped image with water or Stampin’ Mist.

Wipe clean and dry with a cloth. You can also take the embossing folder to a sink and run water over it and then set aside to dry.

I moved the bear for the second card. I wanted him to be more behind the tree than between the trees.

This is a really easy technique.  You just have to trust.  And sometimes it’s just plain old trial and error.  Go ahead and try it for yourself now.  You’ll like it.  Actually you’ll wow yourself and you’ll love it.  And you’ll really impress your friends and card recipients.
