For about the last ten years my daughter and a few of her friends have driven up to our mountain home for a weekend away from husbands and children. It’s a time to make their annual Christmas cards. Hundreds of them. One made 85 cards, another made 100 and the third made about 125–without her family’s Christmas photo yet!
I was dismissed from jury duty and arrived home around 3 p.m. on Friday just in time to greet my guests. I was (and am still) an alternate juror but am not a part of the deliberations so I got to leave the courthouse. Guests and I waited until 4:30 to toast the weekend with our signature cocktail. I knew I couldn’t get called back in to court at that hour.
The three on the left were having a second cocktail when Christy finally arrived about 1.5 hours after our first sips.
Meanwhile, back in the stampin’ studio, the gals got their card pieces cut and die-cut where necessary
Jen’s black and white photos really stand out on her black/white cards with red accents.
Andrea’s cards, above and below.
My one project, while helping the gals with supplies and tips, was making a card for my 12 year old grandson’s Christmas gift.
Austin plays the French Horn in his middle school band. This choice of instrument was due to the times we spent from when he was an infant until now, listening to the Peter and the Wolf music and reading the book. What a great time we’ll have in San Francisco listening to a live orchestra!
Sadly, it’s mid-day on Sunday and the gals are heading back to their real lives in the San Francisco Bay Area. The stampin’ studio is behind those two dormer windows on the left by the way.
Tomorrow it’s back to stamping for the holidays and preparing ideas to share from the upcoming 2017 Occasion Catalog, stamp sets and embellishments. And Sale-a-Bration goodies. It’s definitely going to be fun.
