“You’re My Hero” Cards For Firefighters

Once more I’m going to share with you some retired product…..a quite retired kids set with various vehicles.  I’m away from home now so I can’t just reach over, grab it and tell you the set name.  Sorry.  But here’s the card my fellow committee members Rachel and Sherry and I created last night.

You're My HeroRachel, mom of three children 6 and under, the youngest of the group, did most of the designing and I did most of the embellishment suggesting.  I know what I have on hand and what might be fun.  Sherry was an excellent puncher-outer and assembler.

You're My Hero, reverse side of 'postcard'We opted to just place a simple ‘Thank You’ (yes, it’s also quite retired) on the back side of the postcard on Smoky Gray card stock.  Then we can personalize the actual words to the individual when the event is over.

In order to keep with the theme of the card I had to pull out some old Real Red Embossing Powder for the fire truck.  We used Pacific Point Classic Ink for the you’re my hero.  And we used one of the Thick Twines from this year’s Sale-a-Bration selections.

Would you believe the gals went though a box of my previous class or swap cards and each chose about 30 cards before we got underway with our project.  Between 7.30 and 10:15 p.m. we designed, cut, and put together most of our 52 thank you post cards.  Next task is envelopes, the event, and writing the thank yous.  It was a great, fun evening!  And to think that our October thank you cards are almost done and ready to go.
