THOUGHTS & PRAYERS FOR A LOCAL FIRE FIGHTER & HIS FAMILY

My husband and I are very involved with our local Mi Wuk / Sugar Pine CA fire department.   One of our fire fighters lost his 21 year old son in a freak fishing accident on one of our rivers last week and we, the entire community, were broken hearted.  I pulled out one of my very favorite cards created with the Thoughts & Prayers stamp set, to send to Paul and his family.

Thoughts & Prayers 113252

I want to share the inside as well, partially for the stamping of the tree idea and partially for the adaptation of the words from the Thoughts & Prayers set.

"There are no words to express our sorrow for you all with the loss of your son and brother.  There is some comfort in knowing you have 'friends to support you, faith to uphold you and loving memories to heal your hearts'".

Thoughts & Prayers, inside

I'm so happy that this is one of the stamp sets that was carried into the new 2011-2011 Idea Book & Catalog.  Because this card was made about a year ogo, just waiting for when it was needed, there are several (like many–sorry) retired items used in making it.  You can certainly switch out colors to make your own card.

SUPPLIES:

  • STAMP SET:  Thougths & Prayers
  • CARDSTOCK:  Sage Shadow (R), Close to Cocoa (R), Very Vanilla
  • INK:  Markers:  Chocolate Chip, Old Olive, Close to Cocoa Classic Stamp Pad (R)
  • ACCESSORIES:  Sage Shadow 1/4" grosgrain ribbon (R) , Backgrounds 1 Texturz Plates, Big Shot Die Cut Machine, Punches: Scallop Oval, Large Oval

I'll show you how I made the two-toned wood layer next week.  Tomorrow is a Pancake Breakfast (that I'm in charge of) for benefit of —who else—the Fire Department.  I'm in the Auxiliary and we always offer the breakfast on the 4th of July weekend.  I have never been chairman before!  Curtain call is 5.45 a.m. though so I have to scoot for tonight and get some rest.

As always though, I'm available to help you order this wonderful Thoughts & Prayers stamp set along with some current accessories and colors!  Just click on my name below or on the shopping cart in the upper right corner to place your own order online.  OR call or email me and I will gladly help you with your order.
