After a crazy week I finally got to come out to my stamping studio (it’s a former craft room (previous home owner), former bedroom, and located over our garage) and I was actually stamping outside the (Paper Pumpkin) box almost all day long. Â I also did the final preps for Tuesday’s Card Buffet. Â You can check out this month’s cards here.
I’ve always wanted to create some alternative cards for a Paper Pumpkin kit in addition to those shown in the instructions. Â And here’s what I came up with thanks to several ideas posted on Pinterest and YouTube.
Five alternative March 2018 Paper Pumpkin Cards
Attaching the layer was swapped from placing the Crumb Cake roses onto to Crumb Cake card front rather than, per the kit directions, onto the Fresh Fig card front. I like the soft subtleness of the switch.
This lovely Mother’s Day Card was created by dismantling one of the envelopes that came in the kit and then cutting the rose images down to 3-3/4″ wide x 3-1/2″ high. Â Attach the stamped label with a few Dimensionals and then add three pink pearls. Â So simple, so quick and so lovely!
Add a layer piece from the kit to a Stampin’ Up! Note Card. Â Then stamp the greeting onto to larger label, embellished with two of the copper brads from the kit, and attach to the card front with Dimensionals. Â The pink and daffodil delight flowers were also attached with Dimensionals.
This one is probably my favorite alternative. Â You’ll have to dismantle another of the envelopes from the kit and then, using your Paper Trimmer, trim around the frame. Â Before attaching that layer at an angle, stamp a bunch of the 3-leaf image on to the Fresh Fig card front. Â Using the Early Espresso Ink that comes in the Paper Pumpkin Kit it will actually look like color on color on the Fresh Fig background.
This card uses bits (the flaps) left from tearing apart those cute envelopes that came with the kit and makes a nice simple masculine birthday card. The Happy Birthday label is attached with Dimensionals.
These cards use more of the pieces left when tearing the kit envelopes apart. They’ve been trimmed to 3-1/4″ x 4-3/4″. They also use wood pieces from the gift that Stampin’ Up! included in the March 2018 5 Year Anniversary Paper Pumpkin Kit. Â The ‘front’ card uses the natural colored side of the wood elements and Very Vanilla Note Cards. Â On the Lemon Lime Twist card, the wood elements have been turned over to the white side and a Whisper White Note Card was used. Â Little pearls from the Pearl Basic Jewels, saving the pink and purple pearls in the kit for the roses or darker cards were used to embellish the wood flowers.
