SEASON OF CHEER LAYERED CHRISTMAS CARD

Today’s card shows off a great way to share three designs (well actually two, since I can’t identify the center pattern) of this holiday season’s Seasons of Cheer Designer Series Paper.  I’ll bet you didn’t know that this set of papers was hand-watercolored by one of Stampin’ Up!’s awesome artists.

This paper also coordinates with the Season of Cheer Cardstock Pack (Cherry Cobbler, Pear Pizzazz, Whisper White Thick cardstock).  Other colors in the Season of Cheer Designer Series Paper are Hello Honey, Mossy Meadow, Night of Navy, Real Red, and Soft Sky.

Here’s the card created and swapped by one of my downline (names aren’t put on the cards!) at September’s meeting.  I love the crisp and precise patterns on the card as well as the multi-textures.

The squares are 1-5/8″ square (yes really–square!) and the layer is 1/8″ smaller:  1-1/2″ square.  The rectangle is 2-1/8″ x 4-1/8″ and the layer is 1/8″ smaller on each dimension: 2″ x 4″.  Easy peasy.

I’m not sure where the middle paper on the left came from (I’m not seeing it in the Holiday catalog) but I can identify all of the other components used in the card.

I’m a little embarrassed to say that the Perfect Polka Dots Textured Impression Embossing Folder and the ornament used on the card are both retired products but they can easily be substituted.  IF I had the time I would use the Softly Falling Textured Impressions Embossing Folder in place of the Perfect Polka Dots.  I certainly do like the tidy and festive look of the card.

This is a card that would make a great layout pattern.  Just choose a favorite Designer Series Paper, colors that coordinate with that paper and a stamped image and you have a totally new card.  Try it!  Share it when you do.  Others would love to see what you come up with.
