Magazine File Gift Pack

I’m looking forward to making a collection of Magazine File gift packs for sale in the near future.  Stay tuned for details.  In the meantime, the files I’ve made in the last few days will be given as gifts for local folks who have been giving so much to our community.  It’s going to be hard to determine which grocery clerk will been the one (or two or three) who will receive one.  Every clerk in every store we’ve gone to has been so welcoming and friendly.  I see being quite busy in the near future.

A magazine file can be filled with an assortment of cards, colors and greetings or they can be all birthday or thank you or sympathy or thinking of you.  You get the picture I think.  It just a lovely and fun presentation.  Your recipient could even offer it back to you when empty for a ‘refill’.

I chose to use the Ornate Garden Specialty Designer Series Paper assortment for today’s project.  Among other colors used in the pack are Mint Macaron, Bumblebee (new InColor), Terracotta Tile (20-21 InColor) and, although not mentioned in the pack information, Rococo Rose.  Your color choices will depend upon your choice of Designer Series Paper.

About six weeks ago I attended an online Marathon Retreat* where we learned how to make many different types of cards and 3-D items.  Today’s project takes advantage of one of those projects where we made five cards from ONE 6″ x 6″ piece of Designer Series Paper (DSP).  I chose to use the Ornate Garden Specialty Designer Series Paper as I mentioned above mainly because it’s the only new annual catalog DSP that I have so far.

Cutting diagram for DSP:

DSP layout for 5 cards

Each piece of DSP is layered onto a piece of Whisper White (or color of your choice) card stock that is 1/8″ wider on each side.  One exception is the DSP pieces that are 5-1/2″ in length.

*There will be another of these retreats on July 11th. Summer Creativate Online Stamping Retreat.  I am not affiliated with it in any way other than as a happy participant.  That said, if you’re interested, let me know in a comment below (or an email) and I’ll pass the info email on to you.  The retreat is put on by five lone-time SU! demonstrators:  Lisa Curcio, Jackie Bolhuis, Sharon Armstrong, Brandy Cox and Connie Stewart.  The fee is $45 and you get information and demonstrations on ten creative projects (plus tutorials), every hour on the hour from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m.  It’s a long FUN day.  Videos are posted shortly after each live presentation in case you miss it when ‘live’.

In the meantime, if you’re ready to go shopping for anything related to today’s project and don’t have a demonstrator with whom you work, please hop on over to my online Stampin’ Up! store here, click on SHOP NOW and sign in or create an account with MOI as your demonstrator.  I’m always close-by to answer any question you may have.  And I don’t nag you or pass out your personal email address.

Have fun with today’s project. If you do make a magazine file, please share it with me/us.  It’s OK to brag!
