As well as birthday cards or anniversary cards, there’s also a time for sympathy cards. Fortunately, when I got unexpected news today of need for a sympathy card, I had one ready to go. It was only waiting for a greeting.

Moody Mauve is a very versatile color in Stampin ‘ Up!’s repertoire. I used card stock, Classic Ink and Wildly Flowering Designer Series Paper. This was a Designer Series Paper that I couldn’t warm up to when I first saw it but now I pretty much have only scraps left
Other Products Used:
- Card Base: Moody Mauve, 4-1/4″ x 11″, scored at 5-1/2″
- Dry emboss the card front only using the Distressed Tile 3-D Embossing Folder
- Basic White layer: 3-1/4″ x 4-1/2″
- Designer Series Paper (DSP) layer: 3″ x 4-1/4″
- Basic White layer: 2-1/2″ x 2-1/2″
- Stamp leaves from the Notes of Nature stamp set using Mossy Meadow ink.
- Using the flower bunch from the Sentimental Park stamp set, stamp the flower outline using Moody Mauve classic ink; fill in the center also with Moody Mauve but stamp the freshly inked image off onto a piece of scrap paper first so the ink will be lighter when filling in the flowers. Leave space below the flowers for your greeting.
- Die cut the flowers using the die from the Sentimental Park Dies set.
- Stamp greeting using Moody Mauve classic ink.
- Attach this layer to the DSP layer with the adhesive of your choice.
- Attach all layers to each other as shown in the photo.
- Add a few (like three) pieces of bling to the stamped layer.
- Basic White layer: 5-1/4″ x 4″: Attach to inside of card. Add a small image if you want toward one of the corners. I had a few die cut flowers in my stamp case so I just used them! Easy peasy.
And Inside:

I hope you’ve enjoyed today’s sympathy card. It’s on its way from Idaho to California now. The card below shows another greeting option. If you have any questions — or if I kind of missed a full explanation in the “how-to” somewhere — please reach out and ask. And remember, you can apply any greeting to this same card….Like Just a Little Note to say HELLO.

Thank you so much for popping in today. Please leave a comment below if you’re looking for a specific project or technique. And don’t forget to make a card and then make someone’s day by sending it to them.
