With a day like today, cool, breezy, some oak leaves falling, it does feel like Autumn is just about upon us. I even had my heater on in my stampin’ studio for a short time this morning. Mind you, temperatures are supposed to be in the upper 90s next week. But today I could see my breath. Go figure.
This is the card we’re making at the Mi Wuk Library (Stampin’ for Adults at the Mi Wuk Library, third Thursday of every month, walk in participants always welcome since this is a no-reservation event) this month. It is really simple and, in my most humble opinion, quite lovely.
The single image is stamped with Soft Suede Classic Ink. The important thing to remember here is that Stampin’ Up!’s Classic Inks are water based which means the colors can (will) bleed when they come in contact with water. What I did with this card was to color the pumpkins and leaves with either a Blender Pen or a very dry Aqua Painter. Just be gentle and have a light touch.
Imperfect coloring in of the images is really ‘perfection’. I used the Pumpkin Pie Classic Pad as my ‘palette’ for the Blender Pen/Aqua Painter. I actually made two cards and used the Blender Pen for one and Aqua Painter (dry-ish) for the other. They were equal in performance and my personal satisfaction.
Finish off the card with a length of Stampin’ Up!‘s reintroduced Gold Cording Trim wrapped around the card front and tied in a bow. Done. Simple. Quick. Charming.

This card has a destination in a few weeks, a very special happy scene of autumn. At that time I will add the greeting.
