Exploring In Color at the Avimor Community Center

Stampin’ Up!’s May Paper Pumpkin Kit, Exploring In Color, has turned out to be amazingly versatile. I’m not done playing with it yet. And yes, I ordered a few add-on kits to play even more. (You must be a Paper Pumpkin subscriber to order the add-on kits. They come with all necessary parts to create the same cards as the monthly kit minus the Stampin’ Spot and the stamps themselves.) This kit emphasizes the 2023-2025 In Colors as they appear in the great outdoors. Most kits have images only on the card fronts. But this kit had what I’d call “wrap-around images”–the image was on the card front and wrapped right around to the back of the card.

So I took this single card, cut it in half at the fold line, and created two cards.

I was astounded to see how many different looking cards could be made using this Paper Pumpkin Kit.

Prep area for my cards fir June 15th's class

Each class participant receives an envelope with the parts for their card (top half of photo). Lower left shows the various cards included in this day’s packets. Frame colors are the 2023-2025 In Colors (minus Mood Mauve). Left > right: Boho Blue, Copper Clay, Pebbled Path, Wild Wheat. By the time I was done prepping for and holding this class I was totally in love with the colors. It’ll be interesting to see how they’re used in the next two years.

June 15's card samples.
June 15’s finished card samples. This certainly isn’t a ‘formal’ photo but it does show the images all in one place.

If you’d like details on any of today’s cards, please ask in a comment below. Primarily I used the Countryside Corners Dies and then other various dies or punches to fit my greetings/layers. I ‘fussy cut’ (with scissors) the boots and compass. My ‘bling’ was from the 2023-2025 In Color Dots. It was so much fun just sort of recreating the wheel and coming up with so many card combinations. Rather than 9 cards from the kit I got 18. Yes, I had to pull various card stocks from my stash, as well as 9 extra envelopes but……it was definitely worth it. Fun, creative stretching and it made me happy.

Check out how well the cards go with the enlarged photograph wall print.
Check out how well the cards go with the enlarged photograph wall print. I guess I did crop quite a bit of the scenery out of our photo. Ooops. Left to right: Sue, Marilee, Kym, Robin 1, Andee, Jeanne, Patsy, Robin 2; front ‘row’: Moi and Gloria. WE. DO. HAVE. FUN.

You can subscribe to Paper Pumpkin here. You’ll see that there are several levels of Paper Pumpkin options from monthly to 12 months prepaid. You can also postpone any month along the way as long as you do so by the 10th of “the month”. Check it out.
