I had a great time last week with my daughter and a group of her friends creating some spring time cards, masculine and feminine. My favorite was this group of cards made from the Painted Blooms Designer Series Paper. I pretty much copied the idea from my stampin’ friend Janet Holmes because it’s such a ‘no brainer’ as well as being a fabulous way to used such a beautiful field of flowers sheet of paper.
These cards are made from ONE sheet of Designer Series Paper, cut into 6ths! The patterned pieces are cut to 4″ x 5-1/4″ and then layered onto coordinating card fronts. When you look at the back of any pack of designer paper, you’ll find a listing of the colors used in the designs. What an easy way to choose your papers and inks. I used Wild Wasabi, Rose Red and Blackberry Bliss card stocks for these card front bases.
A few of the gals, after making 5 of the flowered cards flipped the designer paper over and made their own design:
Here’s how our 9.30 a.m. gathering started:
Everything was so organized and tidy, ready for five guests to make 8 cards.
And then reality set in. This is a great group of gals to spend the morning with: Andrea, Melissa, Shauna, Jen and Misty (out of this photo).
We get together monthly, just after the kids go to school, for crafting, chatting, laughing and snacking of some yummy no calorie treats.
I hope you enjoy your day. I know I’m looking forward to some stamping and the arrival of my relatively small box of pre-ordered items from Stampin’ Up!’s new 2015-2016 Annual Catalog. I still have more to share from the current catalog, both retiring items and others that are being carried over (woohoo) into the next catalog.
