I think I had a pretty exciting weekend since I was able to make four sets of From the Herd cards as well as four Berry Baskets. Have you ever put anything off because, subconsciously, you thought it was going to be too involved and time consuming? Well, if you thinking that about the Berry Basket, think again.
I made these three baskets from full sheets of card stock and Designer Series Paper in less than half an hour!!
Tomorrow I’ll work with filling and embellishing them. I think they’re really cute though. How did I choose my colors? The back of the Birthday Bash Designer Series Paper package. The Stampin’ Up! colors used are all listed. I chose the Bermuda Bay, Calypso Coral and Crushed Curry card stocks.
TIP 1: Use Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive for all of your assembly. It sticks almost forever!
TIPS 2: When you’re die cutting just the berry basket, trim your 8-1/2″ x 11″ card stock to two pieces, 3-1/2″ x 8-1/2″. Then when you’re die cutting just the scalloped trim pieces, they need to be 3/4″ x 8-1/2″.
TIP 3: There is a diagram on the back of the packaging for the four assembly steps, the first of which is for the trim. Fold it on the score lines and put the pieces together, using Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive, into a square shape. My tip: there are two scallops on every corner. Knowing (realizing) that makes the assembly so much easier!
My baskets will have some Easter/Spring treatment on them tomorrow or Wednesday. I can’t wait to see what I’m going to do!
Thanks so much for stopping in today. You make my day. 🙂 I’ll see you tomorrow, Tuesday, with new Weekly Deals and this week’s Sale-a-Bration highlighted product. And hopefully some way cute finished spring baskets. And I’ll have another berry basket, totally different to share with you. They’re going to be addictive!
