If you send St. Patrick’s Day cards, why not get them done now? I feel great having my few done and yes I will be sending them here and there across the country. That’s so much better than leaving them alone, hiding in a sample box isn’t it?
Here’s the third card I created last weekend, complete with coordinating lined envelope.
My Big Shot was definitely my friend for today’s card!
First I die cut the second to the smallest heart from the Hearts Collection Framelits three times. And then I ran the three hearts through the Big Shot again, this time using the Perfect Polka Dots Textured Embossing Folder. And finally I sponged the edges of each heart using the Wild Wasabi classic ink pad.
The hearts are attached to the card front, after wrapping a 7″ piece of Whisper White Seam Binding around the edges of the Designer Series Paper layer, using 3 Dimensionals on each heart. The greeting layers are also attached to the card front with Dimensionals.
I’ll bet you’re wondering about the stem for the shamrock. I cut it out freehand. Don’t faint—you can do it! Starting at the bottom (straight edge) of a scrap of Wild Wasabi card stock and using Paper Snips, cut a “stem-like curve”. Then move the snips over about 1/4″ (or slightly less) and follow that same curve but narrow the curve as you reach the imaginary 2″ end. Adjust your cuts to make it more ‘stem like’ if necessary. Then attach it to the card front with the adhesive of your choice. I used snail adhesive.
I used the largest Envelope Liner Die and a 3″ x 6″ piece of coordinating Designer Paper and attached it to the inside of the Medium Envelope with Snail Adhesive along the left, right and top edges. No adhesive along the bottom edge or you’ll have a difficult time getting the liner positioned. How do I know??? Experience. Negative experience. 🙂
