When you don’t have a shamrock stamp or punch, what’s the next best way to get a required shamrock? For me, it was the Itty Bitty Accents Punch Pack and the Heart Punch.
This was a fun card to create. It just required a few steps. My inspiration came from a Pinterest card.
Here’s my biggest TIP: The center ‘holding point’ of each shamrock is a Stampin’ Dimensional.
Place the points of three punched hearts toward the center of the ‘exposed’ Dimensional. (Remove the protective backing from one side only.) Then, with Paper Snips, remove the part of the Dimensional that isn’t covered with hearts. Remove the backing from the Dimensional and (1) lay a piece of Linen Thread over the Dimensional and (2) lay the shamrock onto the layered card front as desired. Repeat for a total of 5 shamrocks.
Then pull the Linen Thread pieces into a bunch, as for a balloon bouquet and (1) lay them on a half dimensional and then cover with a bit of Tombow Multipurpose Liquid Glue; (2) then cover the threads with the Modern Label punched piece (stamped with the happy st. patrick’s day greeting from Teeny Tiny Wishes) that has three Dimensionals on the back. Be sure one of those Dimensionals will cover the grouped threads.
I used Three Shades of Green Candy Dots from three packs of the Candy Dots I had on hand. Candy Dots are on my next order since I now have no more green dots!
Card stock measurements:
- Wild Wasabi: 8-1/2″ x 5-1/2″ (scored at 4-1/4″ and folded) plus some scraps for punching
- Basic Black: 5-1/8″ x 3-7/8″
- Pistachio Pudding/2013-2015 In Color Backgrounds Designer Series Paper Pack: 5″ x 3-3/4″
- Whisper White: 4-1/2″ x 3-1/4″
Moral of this card: when you don’t have a shamrock stamp or punch you can still make shamrocks!
Thanks for stopping by today. And I’ll see you tomorrow with another card idea.
