Warm Welcome cards are certain to warm the hearts of a new neighbor and a special cousin and I had such a wonderful full heart time creating their cards yesterday. One will be sent to Virginia and the other will be delivered to our new next door neighbors here in Boise Idaho. Neither recipient will ever know that someone else received almost the same card as they did.
I love the Warm Welcome stamp set and coordinating Warm Welcome dies for their clean and warm simplicity. I added a little potted plant, using the Plentiful Plants stamp set, to the inside of their cards.
I ran a 5-1/4″ x 4″ piece of Basic White card stock through the Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine inside the Brick & Mortar 3D Embossing Folder. That layer was then placed on the Gray Granite card stock card front base. The welcoming door was stamped using Memento Black ink, also on Basic White card stock. Then I colored it in with various Stampin’ Blends and die cut it using the ‘door’ image from the Warm Welcome dies. The door was attached to the ‘brick wall’ with Stampin’ Dimensionals. By the way…….I used a Small Blending Brush to smudge some Gray Granite Classic ink onto the brick layer before attaching it to the card front.
Product ListI used the Cinnamon Cider stamp pad for the vase in the image above. Then I placed a mask over the vase (just a small scrap of thin paper) and stamped a few plant leaves using Soft Succulent classic ink. I did not reink the stamp for the second leaf image. The Basic White layer of card stock was die cut using the next-to-largest Deckled Rectangles dies.
As I said above, I used a bunch of Stampin’ Blends for coloring the main images but you can use Stampin’ Markers, watercolor pencils or even crayons if you like! Use whatever product you have for coloring the images. There are multiple ‘flesh tones’ in the Light Combo Pack set of blends and I used the SU900 Blend for the little bit of hand that is holding the flower bouquet.
The Soft Succulent “welcome mat” was die cut using a die from the Beautiful Shapes Dies and the words were stamped using Soft Succulent classic ink. It is attached with the adhesive of your choice.
