In the Moment Mystery Stamping Card

Last night, after a several week lull, my sister and fellow Stampin’ Up! Demo, and I took time to finally get in a Mystery Stamping project. I used the In the Moment stamp set for my adventure. Our friend Sharon Armstrong, from Texas, has been creating this crazy opportunity for several years and it’s just so much fun. On a prescribed day she presents you with cutting instructions. Period. Then a few days later (I’m not sure of the exact schedule) she does a YouTube presentation of her card, starting with those cutting instructions. You get words only. No images. No stamp set or color of card stock enumerated. You are on your own to use supplies you have on hand. And at the end of the YT video she shows you her card.

Normally I wouldn’t encourage you to visit another demonstrator’s website but these Mystery Stamping challenges are really good for our creativity and imagination. Hopefully sometime you’ll reach out and try one and then share it here in the comments section. Or in a Blythe Loves to Share Stamping FaceBook post. In the meantime, here’s my card from the September 26, 2022 Monday Mystery Stamping Clues:

September 26, 2022 Monday Mystery Stamping clues as interpreted by me.

Here are the steps I followed for my card:

  • Basic White Thick Card Stock: 8-1/2″ x 5-1/2″ scored at 4-1/4 and burnished (rubbed firmly) with a Bone Folder.
  • Fresh Freesia Card Stock: 2-7/8″ x 4-3/8″
  • Old Olive Card Stock: 2-3/4″ x 4-1/4″
  • Basic White Card Stock: 2-1/2″ x 4″
  • Perfectly Penciled Designer Series Paper (DSP): 2-1/2″ x 5-/4″
  • In the Moment Stamp Set
  • Stampin’ Blends: Crumb Cake, Soft Suede, Calpyso Coral, Misty Moonlight (Retired), Seaside Spray (Retired), Fresh Freesia, Tahitian Tide, Cinnamon Cider (Retired); “Flesh” #900. (I purchased my flesh colors as a promo covering all the colors offered. Now I would imagine it is either in the Medium Light or Light grouping.)
  • Memento Black Ink
  • Dimensionals

There was an instruction to Dry Emboss the piece of DSP which I did—but you cannot see it so I didn’t include it in my stampin’ steps.

Product List

Stay tuned for more mystery stamping. I try to do it every week. There will be NO Mystery Stamping on October 3rd since Sharon is taking a few vacation days. The nerve!! 🙂 In the meantime I’ll be uploading a few more cards for my annual Christmas Card Buffet. The next Buffet will be on the last Monday in October. Halloween! Participants will be done with their cards well before dark so they can greet all their neighborhood gremlins and monsters.

These are my sister Janet’s cards. Totally different. You can see the Dry Embossing on her Designer Series Paper. She used the Wintry 3D Embossing Folder and the Painted Christmas DSP.

Christmas Bazaar Here in Avimor

I’ll be participating in Avimor’s Fall Bazaar on Sunday, October 16th, 11-4, at the Community Center, 5811 W. Avimor Drive, Boise, just off of Hwy 55 heading toward Horseshoe Bend. I’ll be offering hand stamped cards of course, along with Hallowe’en treat boxes and gifts and perhaps a few pre-holiday gifts and packaging. Enough time will help make that determination!

My Monthly Classes

My regular monthly classes are held on the 1st and 3rd Thursday of every month, 1-3 p.m., $8.00. If you’d like to be on my mailing list, please leave a comment below or send me an email, blythe@stampingwithblythe.com. Our comfortable class size is 12 participants and I send out a reminder email on the Sunday preceding each class. Being on my email list will get that information to you. In the new year I’ll be offering tutorials for each class project for a small fee. I’m still working on that. I’ll include past classes as well. If there is interest, I’d be happy to prepare kits-to-go as well.

Happy Stamping…………….
