It’s always fun to be able to put small bits of paper, especially beautiful Designer Series Paper (DSP) scraps, to good use. Back story: I’m participating in the Summer 2021 Creativate Retreat this coming Saturday. Each “Creativator Guide” offered challenges to participants and what I’m sharing today was one of my favorites.
Create a card using Designer Series Paper scraps!
Here’s my creation:
I went to my package of well used (that means plenty of scraps) You’re a Peach Designer Series Paper. I trimmed a bunch of pieces to 1″ wide and whatever length I had in my package. On the back of each package of DSP is a listing of all Stampin’ Up! colors used to create the sheets. I chose Pear Pizzazz for my card front (8-1/2″ x 5-1/2″, scored at 4-1/4″ and folded) and the layer (4″ x 5-1/4″) for attaching the DSP scraps.
My card is landscape presentation although it could just as well have been a portrait presentation before I added the greeting. My first strip was attached from the lower left to the upper right corner. Then I added another longer strip next to the first one, about 1/16″ away. The remaining strips were added perpendicular to the first two strips, maintaining that 1/6″ distance from any direction.
Trim the raw ends with Paper Snips and then tidy it all up by using a Paper Trimmer to make the entire piece measure 4″ x 5-1/4″.
I used the Stitched Rectangle dies to create the layers for the greeting. My ‘hello’ greeting is from the Garden Birdhouses stamp set, stamped in Pear Pizzazz Classic Ink to coordinate with the rest of the card. I attached the greeting to the Pear Pizzazz layer with ‘green glue’ and then the two layer to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Finally I attached 3 Artistry Blooms Adhesive-Backed Sequins around the greeting itself.
Done! Happy scraps put to good use.
