December’s Paper Pumpkin kit offers a warm way to send a socially-distanced bear hug to your friends and family, near or far. Getting a piece of personal mail, and especially a bear hug in the mail will definitely bring a smile to the person on the receiving end. And it should make you, as the sender, pretty happy too, knowing you’re going to be bringing that smile.
As we all know, it’s been a beary tough year! (I couldn’t resist) I’ve been sending many more cards than usual just to let friends and relatives know I’m thinking about them. And the reward has been worth it! I love those phone calls or extra texts that come from the heart.
FYI, Stampin’ Up! begins developing Paper Pumpkin kits up to two years in advance and it’s amazing to me how perfectly appropriate this kit is considering the world-wide pandemic conditions. I’ve upped my subscription to two kits this month (you must sign up by December 10th to get this kit) so click here to order yours. The monthly fee of $22 includes postage. Four of my finished Paper Pumpkin cards will be going international (Germany and France), just as Covid has gone international. Our exchange students from wa-a-a-y back when now have their own children who will really enjoy their cards. So will Mom and Dad. By the way, the cards are standard sized, 4-1/4″ x 5-1/2″ and are totally perfect for the post office. Just add that stamp!
Remember…….if you’d like to have this month’s kit show up at your door (mailing out starts on the 11th of December) be sure to sign up by the 10th of December.
You don’t need a stash of supplies to complete a monthly kit you know. You’ll receive at least one Stampin’ Spot (mini ink pad) in the kit, adhesive (glue dots or dimensionals), and a stamp set that will last forever. And fun embellishments. There’s a simple but clear instruction sheet — with photos–included as well as a monthly Paper Pumpkin video on line. Just change the MONTH in the link and you’ll find it. The link doesn’t come out (go live) until the kits go into the mail! And you can always find lots of alternative ideas on Facebook (check out the Paper Pumpkin Fan Club), Pinterest and YouTube. Don’t be shy……go for it!
Here is a selection of my November Paper Pumpkin projects:
I also made some cute little purse sized treat boxes (with Crumb Cake or Cinnamon Cider card stock and the oh-so-cute Little Treat Box Dies) for handing out to store clerks or any random ‘someone’ who brought me an extra smile. They’re filled with two little Hershey’s candies.

The Little Treat Box Dies, by the way, are on the retiring list! Why??? I have no idea but I’m not in charge. On the left side of the dies image above, third item down from the left, is the cute little tag I used on my treat boxes. They’re also on sale at 30% off. That’s $26.60 rather than $38. What a deal for such a cute table favor or shareable gift to have on hand. I’m keeping several in my purse, as I mentioned above, for hand to someone who’s been sweet to me. That could even be someone who opened and held a door. Ya just never know.
Have a great day everyone! Make the best of it and please be cautious, wise and safe.
