I’m excited to be sharing my first card made with 2019 Sale-a-Bration products. I’ll be the first to admit that I wasn’t wild about the Botanical Butterfly Designer Series Paper (DSP) when I first saw it. Too many butterflies. But then when I checked (ha ha c-h-e-c-k-e-d) out the reverse side of these papers I was sold. Please note the checked pattern that I used for my square layer. 🙂
I used this layout as my inspiration for the card:
The Mojo Monday inspiration sketch proved to be a great way to use four of the Sale-a-Bration products:

Then I added these products, from the 2019 OccasionsCatalog and the 2018-19 Annual Catalog:

As I was creating the card it was apparent to me that the main layer, Grapefruit Grove, needed some texture so I chose the Basketweave Dynamic Embossing Folder. After that, it took quite a while to come up with the measurements for the layers and here they are.
- Basic Black card stock: 8-1/2″ x 5-1/2″, scored at 4-1/4″
- Grapefruit Grove card stock: 5-1/8″ x 4-1/8″
- Grapefruit Grove Foil: 1-1/2″ x 4-1/2″
- Botanical Butterfly DSP patterned paper: 1/1-4″ x 3-1/4″
- Basic Black square layer: 2-1/4″ x 2-1/4″
- Botanical Butterfly DSP black/white patterned paper: 2″ x 2″
The ribbon was about 5-1/2″, long enough to wrap around the embossed Grapefruit Grove layer and be secured with adhesive on the back side.
The remainder of the process was just attaching each layer. The ovals layers were attached to each other with Liquid Multipurpose Glue and then to the main card using Stampin‘ Dimensionals.
The stamped, colored and punched butterfly was attached with little drops of Liquid Multipurpose Adhesive.
(Yes, I needed to either replace my cutting blade or clean the ‘gutter’ on my Paper Trimmer. More about that in another post.)
Don’t you love the way the Grapefruit Grove Foil creates and reflects color!!?? I had a lot of fun and am pretty pleased with my first card made with 2019 Sale-a-Bration products. You can earn one Sale-a-Bration product with each $50 you spend from any Stamping’ Up! catalog between now and March 31st. Reach out to me if you have questions.
