As I was tidying up my room in preparation for Saturday’s World Card Making Day, I came upon this Happy New Year 2016 card:
Hmmm. I guess I failed to send it out a few years ago. But guess what? This coming New Year’s Eve welcomes the year 2019. Pretty cool isn’t it!? Gently pry off the ‘6’ and reposition it as a ‘9’ and I now have this coming New Year’s first card, all ready to go!

I have several confessions:
- The Little Numbers Thinlits Dies are now retired.
- The Red Glimmer Paper is also retired.
- The Silver Cording Trim is also retired.
- The little red birdie is also from a retired framelits set whose name I can’t recall!
- The Red Rhinestone Basic Jewels weren’t available when I made this card. I probably colored regular rhinestone jewels with the Blends Markers that were available for a short time a few years ago. Our current Stampin’ Blends can be used to convert any Rhinestone Jewel or Pearl Jewel to any color that exists in the Blends family. (even red!)
- I can’t remember the name of the stamp set where I got the greeting.
The most complicated step in this card is the heat embossing. After rubbing the entire card front with the Embossing Buddy, stamp the “foliage” and “snow” using VersaMark ink and then sprinkle White Stampin’ Emboss Powder generously over the stamped images. Shake off excess and then heat set using the Heat Tool.
I’m kind of excited to have my first (and possibly only) Happy New Year 2019 card made and ready to go. Now the question is to whom will I send it?
