I love cards and stamp sets that sort of tell a story or set a scenario. That’s why Sitting Pretty was one of the first stamp sets I ordered from the new 2018-2019 Annual Catalog from Stampin’ Up. There are so many scenarios you can set up and you’ll definitely be seeing more samples from me using this cozy stamp set. Today’s Sitting Pretty Hello card is perfect for sending to someone for no special reason. It’s a photopolymer set which is one of my favorites.
TIP: If your photopolymer image looses it’s grip on the clear block, spritz the back side with Stampin’ Mist or or bit of water and wipe it off. “Fuzz” and dust can accumulate on that back side, compromising the grip factor of the image. I sometimes just wet my finger and swipe it across the back side of the image but that might just be too gross for some of you. 🙂

Card stock measurements and stamping tips:
- Card Front: Soft Sea Foam: 8-1/2″ x 5-1/2″, scored at 4-1/4″ and firmly creased. Remember to fold away from the ‘grooved’ score line.
- Whisper White layer: 4-1/8″ x 5-3/8″
- Smokey Slate layer: 3-1/2″ square; die cut with scalloped layering square framelit
- Whisper White stamped layer: 3″ square, die cut with 2-5/8″ layering square framelit. Stamp bench with Smoky Slate ink and the grass tips only using Old Olive ink.
- Whisper White scrap about 2″ square for stamping and die cutting plant. This is a two-step stamping image: stamp the vase/plant image using Memento Black and then position and stamp the leaves of the plant using Garden Green ink. Color the vase using the Bronze Stampin’ Blends marker. Don’t be a perfectionist—leave a few little white spaces.
- Whisper White scrap for stamping and die cutting the little bird. Color its head with the Dark Daffodil Delight Stampin’ Blends marker and the body using the Light Daffodil Delight Stampin’ Blends marker.
- Use Embossing Buddy to swipe the lower end of the Whisper White card front piece. This will remove static. Stamp ‘hello‘ from the Varied Vases stamp set using Smoky Slate ink. Immediately cover the stamping with Clear Embossing Powder, shake off excess and heat set with the Heat Tool.
- Both the image layer and the die cut plant are attached to the card front with Dimensionals, popping both up for visual interest.
Make someone’s day by saying hello with a hand stamped card. You don’t need a particular reason. Just send a little unexpected sunshine into their day.
