One of my favorite stamp sets from the annual catalog is called Crafting Forever and I finally took a bit of time out for Crafting Forever the other day. I love using a fountain pen and woke up Wednesday morning thinking about a diagonal row of fountain pens. After a little thought this is what I came up with:
And wouldn’t you know it! The very last step on my card was a less than perfect inking of the message. It’s a great lesson in humility and non-perfection. And yes, I will definitely be sending it to someone.
I stamped the fountain pens using Tuxedo Black Memento ink so that I could color them in with the Stampin’ Blends. I used the Light and Dark Bermuda Bay Blends as well as the Light and Dark Calypso Coral Blends. Then I very carefully used the Lemon Lime Twist Stampin’ Marker for the center fountain pen.

- The most complicated (not really) bit of this card was stamping the fountain pens. I stamped the image 5 (or more?) times, each stamping right next to the previous. Then, using my Stampin’ Trimmer, I cut off the excess Whisper White cardstock just above and just below the pens. I laid the stamped image piece from lower left to upper right corners and marked, lightly in pencil, where the piece would need to be trimmed so that the pens would be laying at an angle. After trimming that, I laid the colored pens onto a piece of Basic Black cardstock, secured it, leaving 1/16″ margins on all sides.
- Wrap those two layered pieces with the 1/4″ Lemon Lime Twist Ombre Ribbon, tie it in a bow and attach the piece to the card front.
- Using Tuxedo Black Memento Black Ink, stamp your greeting, ensuring that you’ve properly covered the rubber with ink! (not like I did!).
Enjoy your completed card.
Remember, taking time out for crafting forever will keep you young and relaxed. It’s such good therapy!
