If you don’t have rubber stamps, ink and card stock, why not just pull out some crayons or markers, paper of any kind—or even a color book. Take some time this Card Making Day and create something heartfelt from scratch, and show the recipient that you’ve really thought about them. Then send it to that someone special. Regardless of what kind of card you made, your recipient will definitely respond with a smile.
Another idea for World Card Making Day: have an impromptu gathering of friends–with kids if they’re a part of the equation–and sit around the dining room table and make some cards.
A little history: World Card Making Day began in 2006 as National Card Making Day. Founded by Paper Crafts magazine to bring card makers together at the beginning of the busiest card-making season of the year, it was first held on October 7, 2006. The initial celebration involved the Paper Crafts magazine audience only; however, due to the positive response it received and the worldwide popularity of card making, the holiday became known as World Card Making Day from then on.
