My sister (also a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator), her husband and a good friend of theirs are currently touring around in Tennessee. The friend, Edwina, a new Stampin’ Up! demo, brought some stamping supplies to work on in their spare time. Alas she forgot to pack a necessary supply–a punch. I asked my sister Janet to send me the neat story. Read on……..
“We are on vacation and I brought the “ingredients” for Edwina’s swap cards. I’ve had them in a box for a couple of weeks and didn’t recheck. I thought I had asked her to bring her daisy punch. Well….somewhere, we miscommunicated and didn’t have it. Of course, we couldn’t finish her cards without it.
“So, I went to the Stampin’ Up! website to FIND A DEMONSTRATOR and put in the town where we are, here in Sevierville, Tennessee. I got three names, called the first two and got no answer. I tried the third one, and Ruth Britt answered. I said “I am Janet Smith, and I’m a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator from California, and I’m here on vacation”. I went on to tell her about our dilemma, and asked (1) if she had the large Daisy Punch and (2) if there was any way we could borrow it so Edwina could finish her swap cards. She said “sure”. (Woohoo !!) We made arrangements to meet and she and her husband met us about 30 minutes later. We’ll meet again on Friday to return it. We all agreed that the Stampin’ Up! community is a wonderful bunch of people.”
We will all three, Janet, Edwina and Blythe, be meeting up in Portland, Oregon in mid-November for a one day On Stage ‘convention’, a gathering of about 200 west coast (mostly) Stampin’ Up! demonstrators. We’ll be reuniting with old friends and meeting new friends, getting new ideas, watching demonstrations, hearing business tips, getting a sneak peak of the new 2020 Occasions Catalog, and most likely getting a few new stamping supplies. Of course it’s going to be fun being with many other demonstrators who are as wacky and engrossed as we are. Details will follow on November 15-16. We’ll also be meeting up with a demo (Hi Karenlee) whom I met in San Jose about 20 years ago. A group of demos from as far away as Guam and Hawaii will be meeting at her home. Fun! It’s the simple joy of being a part of the Stampin’ Up! family. If you’d like to join my Stampin’ Up! team send me a email. I’d love to talk to you about the possibilities. Near or far, we can definitely work together! You don’t have to be in my town with the power of the internet and cell phones. Think about it and let’s talk. blythe@stampingwithblythe.com or 209-352-1059 (cell).
