The Reality of L-I-F-E

Sometimes, due to self-made plans, I can’t seem to get near my stamping.  I left home on Tuesday afternoon last week and returned home Saturday afternoon.  This is what I was doing when I wasn’t stamping or blogging:

Before I left on Tuesday I did get my October Paper Pumpkin kit started:

Check out the awesome envelope
Check out the awesome envelope – it’s like a yummy knit sweater on the inside.  You saw this on last Monday’s post.

Wednesday:

Blythe & Lynn
Blythe & Lynn at Carmel-By-the-Sea — my cousin and her husband arrived from Ohio with a two-day window for ‘visitation’ and getting together.  She and I are six months apart and our daughters were born on the same same a good while back.  Those are just two reasons that I always love to get together with her.

Hog's Breath Inn
We stopped at Clint Eastwood’s Hog’s Breath Inn in Carmel for a little drink mid-afternoon on Wednesday.  I’m with cousin-in-law Bob 3.

Wine at sunset
About 5:00 pm we drove south on Hwy 1, along the Pacific coast toward Big Sur, to the Rocky Point restaurant where we met their son, Scott (from San Diego) and his girlfriend for sunset and a yummy dinner.  Then it was a 2 hour drive back to their lodging in Sunnyvale and mine, half an hour further, at my daughter’s home in Dublin.  California.

Thursday late afternoon:

Mini Family reunion
Generation 1 – Mini Family reunion.  My hubby, Russ, brother Bob 1, me, cousin-in-law Linda, brother-in law Bob 2, sister Janet, cousin Lynn and finally her hubby Bob 3.  There were 3 Gen 2 representatives and 5 Gen 3 reps.  Pizza and salad made it an easy gathering.

Friday afternoon:

Magic Mike the Magician
Magic Mike the Magician!  He was fabulous and handled 14 eight-year-olds with total finesse.  Birthday Boy & Grandson Landen is standing on Magic Mike’s right (the left in the photo).  Landen, the Great Landini, is an aspiring magician.  Yes, there was reference to the ‘other’ Magic Mike!  Our Magic Mike had the name (he’s written several magic books including The Klutz Book of Magic, 1989) long before the 2015 film starring Channing Tatum.

Saturday at noon:

Austin in the middle
My 7th grade grandson, Austin, in the middle of this photo, right above the man with the blackish hair, plays French horn and trombone in the school band.  They had a review on Saturday.  1st place: Marching Band (where Austin plays the trombone) and 2nd place: concert band (where he plays the French horn).  They were amazing!!!  It was the first time I’d heard them play.

French horn or trombone?
Which case is heavier, French horn or trombone?

Next, in my car for the 2 hour drive home.  And today, Sunday, I’m back at my work table.  I’ve missed it.
