Just a Note Chicken Card Using Wood Words

Another one of my favorite stamp sets is Wood Words.  It’s ‘woodsy’, fresh, versatile, and just fund.  And it was perfect for today’s Just a Note chicken card using Wood Words and the warm Wood Textures 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Papers.

And here’s the second library card for July’s stamping time:

It’s clean and simple, monochromatic and warm and cozy-like.

Tips:

  • Card Front:  Whisper White card stock, 8-1/2″ x 5-1/2″, scored at 4-1/4″ and crease burnished with a Bone Folder (or the back of your thumb).
  • First layer:  Early Espresso, 5-3/8″ x 4-1/8″
  • Next layer:
    • Crumb Cake polka dot pattern of 6″ x 6″ Neutrals Designer Series Paper. 4″ x 2″
      • Using Crumb Cake Classic Ink, stamp large floral image from Wood Words stamp set.
    • Any pattern of the Wood Textures 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper, 4″ x 2″
  • Cut Doily in half and attach at upper edge of Wood Texture layer using small dots of Liquid Glue.
  • Crumb Cake ink: stamp chicken image on scrap of Whisper White card stock; set aside.
  • Big Shot: use Scallop Layering Circle one size larger than the 1-1/4″ punch and Early Espresso card stock to create a layer.  Attach stamped and punched chicken image using Liquid Multipurpose Glue.  Attach to card front as shown in photo.
  • Tie a bow using several strands of Linen Thread and attach it to card front using a Glue Dot.
  • Using Crumb Cake ink and the A NOTE FOR YOU greeting, stamp greeting on 1/2″ x 2-1/2″ scrap of Whisper White card stock.
  • Using Paper Snips, cut a flag at each end of the greeting piece by making a small 1/4″ cut in the middle of one end of the greeting piece.  Then make cuts from each edge of the piece, angling toward the 1/4″ snip you first made.  Repeat at other end.  Attach to card front using Liquid Glue.

You could easily change up the Just a Note Chicken Card to a Just a Note Heart card or Farmer’s Market card by swapping stamps.  Actually there are lots of ways you can swap the greetings and images around from the Word Words set to send alternative messages.  If you need any of the supplies I used for this card just click on the images and you’ll be sent to my Stampin’ Up! online store.  If you don’t already have an account sent up with me, just click on create account in the upper left corner (under the orang-ish Stampin’ Up! logo) and select me as your demonstrator.  Questions?  Please ask me!!
