I LOVE SUNFLOWERS

I do love sunflowers.  The movie “Calendar Girls” brought me out of my (stupid, surprising) doldrums when I turned 60 a while back.  And the flower of the movie was the sunflower.  The movie takes place in North Yorkshire, near where I lived for 6 months w-a-a-a-y back in 1977.  It wraps around a Women’s Institute chapter’s fundraising effort for a local hospital by having it’s members pose nude for a calendar.  It’s very tasteful, poignant and funny.  And touching.  And it was also my introduction to Helen Mirren.  You can check out a trailer for the movie here.

Of course this card, inspired by Connie Babbert, hit right at my heart strings.  Simple, clean and bright.

A Happy Hello sunflower card

It shows another way to use images that are normally used for a Christmas poinsettia.  Why not a sunflower as well!?

The Reason for the Season stamp set can be purchased as a stand-alone stamp set or at a 15% discounted bundle that includes the Festive Flower Builder punch.

I’m hopeful that by looking at the card you can copy it (it’s very straightforward) and make a cheerful sunflower card for yourself and your lucky recipient. Be sure to mail it! Make someone’s day!
