Having a Happiest of Birthdays to You card on hand is never a bad idea since you never know when you might need it. This card closes to 4″ x 4″ and is perfectly able to be mailed (or just slipped into) one of Stampin’ Up!’s standard medium envelopes (aka A-2). I chose to make the card in this size because I wanted to get nine, rather than six, layering pieces out of the beautiful Springtime Foils Specialty Designer Series paper that was one of the selections from this year’s Sale-a-Bration. This card base is Bermuda Bay.
And here’s the card opened up:
There was also the choice of making the card in Tempting Turquoise. I made that decision because I didn’t have enough Bermuda Bay 3/8″ Mini Chevron ribbon for twelve cards. I always prepare for 10-12 stampers at the monthly Stampin’ for Adults at our local library.
And opened:
I switched to 1/8″ Gold ribbon for the Tempting Turquoise cards.
Coloring for all cards was done with Tempting Turquoise or Bermuda Bay and Pear Pizzazz markers. Before the marker ink dries, move it around with the Blender Pen. You can actually load your Blender Pen in one leaf with the marker ink, smooth out the color for the image and then take the Blender Pen to another leaf and use the color stored in the pen.

My library stampers loved the ‘z’ fold used on this card. It’s always interesting to see how eight women each put their own touch on these cards. I was too engrossed to take photos this time. And to all who receive one of these cards I wish the happiest of birthdays to you.
