It was quite a shock when the new 2023-24 Annual Catalog came out with so many colors g-o-n-e from the color palette and another bunch of colors introduced. I must say I am loving the new colors. So fresh and bright. Today’s cards use two of those newbies: Lemon Lolly and Lemon Lime Twist. They both use the word lemon in their names but they are actually quite different.
Introducing Lemon Lolly & Lemon Lime Twist:
Product ListI love a challenge — an easy-ish challenge — when I see it — and today’s fun fold card fit the bill. It does seem as if I’m into fun folds these days. For the “pop” they offer, they’re actually quite easy.
Lemon Lolly Version
I’m thinking I might correct my small daisy boo-boo before putting the card in the mail. That’s what dies are for sometimes!
Lemon Lime Twist Version
Cutting Tips (you will be making two cards)
- Card Base (Lemon Lolly AND Lemon Lime Twist in my sample): 8-1/2″ x 11″, scored at 1-3/4″, 3-1/2″, 5-1/4″ and 7″
- Small pop-out folding piece: 1 each of Lemon Lolly AND Lemon Lime Twist: 3″ x 6″, scored at 3″
- Card Base Layer pop-out piece: 1 each of Lemon Lolly AND Lemon Lime Twist: 3″ x 3″
- Basic White layer to place on above pop-out folding piece and the small piece on the right: 2-3/4″ x 2-3/4″ << 6 pieces
- Basic White card greeting layer: 2 pieces: 5-1/4″ x 3-3/4″; one for each card
Assembly Tips
- Choose stamp set of your choice and stamp your images in a similar pattern to that shown in my samples.
- Attach two (for each card) of the 2-3/4″ x 2-3/4″ Basic White pieces to the 3″ x 6″ pieces that have been scored and folded in half on the score line.
- Attach the third 2-3/4 x 2-3/4″ Basic White piece to the 3″ x 3″ Lemon Lolly and Lemon Lime Twist pieces. Attach these layered pieces to the 5-1/4″ x 3-3/4″ Basic White pieces after attaching those Basic White pieces to the card base as shown in the photos.
- Accordion fold the base card and burnish the folds with a Bone Folder or another strong flat tool. Place adhesive on the outside ends of this 3″ x 6″ layer and gently lay it in place so it covers the card on the inside. Then firmly burnish (with that Bone Folder) the glued area so there is a secure seal.
- Add the bling of your choice depending upon your choice of stamp set. I used those cute little Brass Butterflies.
- Don’t forget to add a ‘hand-stamped by’ stamp to the back of your card. If you don’t have one just be sure to add a smiley face and your name/date so your lucky recipient knows you made their card!
How About Sharing Your Card?
If you happen to make a card based on this sample, I’d love it if you’d share it. I’m not sure if you can do that in a comment below but you can on my FaceBook page. StampingWithBlythe
